Philly Fashion Week 2012 Black Tie Affair

Last Thursday, September 20, Philly Fashion Week took over One and Two Commerce Square for an elegant black tie soiree.

First order of the evening was to honour those who had contributed to fashion, in the Notable Fashion Awards. The four winners, all Philadelphia natives, were Jimmy Catraz, stylist, editor of Street Style, contributor to Fox 29 and Art Association volunteer. Next was CEO of House of Tally Philadelphia, Antoine Johnson who works with emerging designers in New York, with Top Model and Project Runway. Michelle Shamon, who began at ROZ Group to then go on to become Vice President of Communications for Center City Philadelphia and co-chair of the Retail Marketing Alliance was also honoured. But the highest prize, the “Charles Scott Excellence Award” was give to Rakia Reynolds, CEO of Skai Blue Media, Associate Director of the Philadelphia Collection and major player in Philly Fashion Week.

A runway show followed, featuring Philadelphia based designer Kevin Love, whose creations fused the romantic streets of Paris with the Military. Michael D. Oxman was next to show, whose bespoke men’s suits are impeccably contoured, and finally came Cory Tran of Cory Couture whose couture gowns with their dream-like qualities were the perfect way to end the evening.
